Anambra LG Poll: APGA BoT Reacts to Election Outcome, Sends Message to Soludo
The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has expressed its reaction following the results of Saturday’s local government election in Anambra State.
In a statement issued on Monday, Chief Chekwas Okorie, the founder and pioneer National Chairman of APGA, congratulated the winners of the polls, which saw the party secure all chairmanship and councillorship positions across the state.
Okorie commended the efforts of APGA’s National Chairman, Chief Edozie Njoku, for his leadership during the election campaign. “I doff my hat to the National Chairman, Chief Edozie Njoku, who led from the front in the rigorous campaign of our candidates, which resulted in this overwhelming victory,” Okorie stated.
He further noted that the party’s sweeping victory sets a strong foundation for the upcoming Anambra State Governorship election scheduled for November 2025.
Addressing Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Okorie urged him to promptly swear in the newly elected officials. He emphasized that the Governor should uphold the rule of law by swearing in the APGA-sponsored chairmen and councillors in line with the provisions of the Nigerian Constitution and the Electoral Act.
“This is an opportunity for Governor Soludo to demonstrate his loyalty to the party and his commitment to the rule of law, as outlined in his oath of office. This is the path of honor for the governor,” Okorie concluded.
