Anambra 2025: Soludo’s Key Strategist Resigns, Eyes New Political Future

Chief Jude Emecheta, PhD, a top political strategist and longtime ally of Governor Charles Soludo, has resigned from his role as Senior Special Assistant on Administration in Anambra State, raising speculation about his next political move ahead of the 2025 elections.

Though the state government has yet to release an official statement, sources within Government House confirmed the resignation. In his letter, Dr. Emecheta expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve, stating that he leaves “with pain, but also with immense gratitude.”

A prominent figure in Anambra’s political landscape, Emecheta’s career spans more than two decades. He began in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) before becoming a key player in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). He is credited with pioneering the Support Group model in state politics, helping build influential campaign platforms such as the Willie Obiano Support Group and Anambra Demands Soludo.

Emecheta also served as the inaugural Managing Director and CEO of the Anambra State Signage and Advertising Agency (ANSAA), where he led major institutional reforms and expanded the agency’s operational footprint.

Known for his strategic acumen and grassroots connections, Emecheta’s departure comes at a politically sensitive time, as realignments take shape ahead of the 2025 polls. His name has been linked to a potential move to the All Progressives Congress (APC), though he declined to confirm this. When asked about his next steps, he simply said, “Time will tell.”
