Anambra 2025: PDP’s ‘Primary’ Ends with Unopposed Ezenwafor Clinching Ticket

In what many have described as a symbolic exercise, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday concluded its governorship primary in Anambra State with Chief Jude Ezenwafor emerging as the party’s flag-bearer—without a single challenger in sight.

Ezenwafor, an Abuja-based real estate developer, was the sole aspirant to purchase the party’s N40 million nomination form, effectively making the outcome of the primary a foregone conclusion. The chairman of the PDP National Committee overseeing the exercise, Col. Chijioke Onwubuya (retd), officially declared Ezenwafor the winner, affirming the party’s choice in the most predictable manner possible.

Speaking after the declaration, Ezenwafor thanked the delegates for their support and promised to lead a strong campaign ahead of the November 8 governorship election. “I thank all the delegates for the massive support and their endorsement. We are going to work hard to ensure the party wins the governorship election,” he said.
