Alleged Double Homicide Shocks Edo Community: Son Accused of Killing Father, Stepmother
In a tragic incident that has left the Evbomore community in Ovia North-East LGA of Edo State in shock, a 32-year-old man, Etionsa Aiguokun, has allegedly killed his father, Mr. Aiguokun, and his stepmother, Mrs. Roseline Aiguokun.
The alleged murders followed a heated disagreement between Etionsa and his father last Wednesday. According to sources, the altercation escalated into a physical fight, during which Etionsa reportedly grabbed a pestle from the kitchen and struck his father on the head.
Upon hearing her husband’s screams, Mrs. Roseline Aiguokun rushed to the scene, only to suffer the same fate as her husband. It is alleged that Etionsa also hit her with the pestle, causing her immediate death.
Eyewitnesses claim that the suspect then dragged the bodies to the back of the house, concealing them beside a soakaway and covering them with leaves.
The gruesome discovery was made when the other children of the deceased couple returned home and found their parents missing. Etionsa initially joined in the search but later, under police interrogation, allegedly confessed to the killings.
The Edo State Police Command’s spokesperson, Chidi Nwabuzor, confirmed that an investigation is ongoing.
