Air Peace Responds to U.S. Fraud Charges Against CEO Allen Onyema
Air Peace, one of Nigeria’s leading airlines, has responded to recent fraud charges filed by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) against its Chief Executive Officer, Allen Onyema, and its Chief of Finance and Administration, Ejiro Eghagha.
In an official statement released on Sunday, the airline acknowledged the charges and emphasized that the case remains ongoing in court.
“We understand that these reports may have caused concern, and we wish to address the matter directly,” the statement read. “The charges brought against our executives are part of a broader legal process rooted in accusations of financial misdeeds from several years ago.”
The airline stressed that while the charges have been expanded, they are still mere allegations, and the court is yet to render a verdict.
“Our legal team is fully engaged and working tirelessly to ensure justice is served. We are confident that through due process, the truth will emerge, and both our CEO and co-defendant will be exonerated.”
Air Peace further noted that Onyema and his legal team have cooperated fully with authorities throughout the investigation.
Despite the ongoing legal proceedings, the airline reassured its customers and the public that its operations remain unaffected. “These proceedings will not impact the safety, reliability, or daily operations of Air Peace,” the statement concluded.
