AIG Godwin Aghaulor Retires as Zone 13 Commander After 35 Years of Service

 

Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Godwin Aghaulor, who served as the Commander of Zone 13, Ukpo, has officially retired after 35 years in the Nigeria Police Force. His retirement ceremony took place on Saturday at the Zonal Command Headquarters in Ukpo, Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State.

 

As part of the event, Aghaulor decorated five newly promoted Assistant Commissioners of Police, including ACP Ugochukwu Ezejiofor, ACP Celestine Umeh, ACP Jude Ohaja, ACP Eluha Clever, and ACP Emoefe Oshiobugie.

 

Born in Agbor, Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State in 1965, Aghaulor began his career in 1990 as an ASP Cadet. Over the years, he held various key positions, including Commandant of Police College Kaduna, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Administration in Sokoto, and most recently, Zonal Commanding Officer for Zone 13, a role he assumed on November 15, 2023.

 

Speaking at the ceremony, Aghaulor expressed gratitude to God and the police force for the opportunity to serve and rise to the rank of AIG. He urged officers still in service to remain dedicated to their duties and prayed for their well-being and safe retirement.

 

The retirement event was attended by members of the Police Community Relations Committee, the Police Officers’ Wives Association, personnel of Zone 13, and other well-wishers, who shared goodwill messages in his honor.
