“Africa Didn’t Invade America Over #BlackLivesMatter,” Soludo Dismisses Trump’s Threat

 

Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has responded to U.S. President Donald Trump’s threat of military action in Nigeria over claims of a Christian genocide, describing the warning as a distortion of the real issues facing the country.

 

Speaking to the media on Sunday, Soludo emphasized that Nigeria’s security challenges extend beyond religious divides. He called for a more substantive national dialogue and stressed the importance of presenting facts accurately before seeking any form of intervention.

 

Soludo noted that if Nigeria requires foreign assistance, it should come through formal requests for military support, technology, or equipment, rather than through threats from abroad. He dismissed the idea of an invasion, comparing it to the implausibility of African nations threatening the U.S. over incidents of racial violence, referencing the #BlackLivesMatter protests.

 

“The most effective path toward lasting solutions is fostering a national conversation,” Soludo said, adding that the Nigerian government is already taking significant steps to ensure security. He concluded that robust dialogue remains essential to resolving the country’s challenges.
