ADC Sets April 14 for National Convention
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has scheduled its national convention for April 14 as part of a series of congresses to renew its leadership structure nationwide.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the party’s spokesperson, Bolaji Abdullahi, said the exercise follows the party’s constitutional procedures for electing leaders at different levels of the organisation.
According to the timetable, the process will begin with polling unit and ward congresses on April 7. Local government area congresses are scheduled for April 9, while state congresses will take place on April 11.
The sequence will conclude with the national convention on April 14, where national officers of the party are expected to emerge.
Abdullahi said the congresses are intended to strengthen internal democratic processes within the party by allowing members to participate in leadership selection from the grassroots up to the national level.
The development comes weeks after the ADC launched a free online membership registration platform across the country ahead of the 2027 general election.
The party said the digital portal is part of its ongoing membership registration and revalidation drive, which was introduced last month in Abuja.
