“ADC Presidential Ticket is Open, Don’t Rock the Boat” – Eze to Peter Obi, Obidients
Ahead of the 2027 presidential election, APC chieftain Eze Chukwuemeka Eze has urged leaders of the Africa Democratic Congress (ADC) to put aside personal ambitions and work together to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement on Wednesday, Eze criticized recent actions by the Obedient Movement, a political bloc loyal to Peter Obi, warning that internal divisions could undermine the party’s chances against President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Eze stressed that the ADC was founded to address corruption, nepotism, and economic hardship, and achieving these goals requires a united front. He condemned false statements circulating online, including fabricated praise of Obi attributed to former Rivers State Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.
“These narratives are products of desperation and will only harm the party,” Eze said, urging Obi and his supporters to avoid blackmail or tactics that could “rock the boat” ahead of the party’s presidential ticket selection.
He emphasized that the ADC presidential ticket remains open and called for patience and cooperation among leading candidates—Atiku Abubakar, Amaechi, and Obi—to ensure the party presents a credible challenge in 2027.
Eze also criticized claims from some Obi supporters suggesting the party could collapse if he does not secure the nomination, describing such statements as “unidealogical and unpatriotic.”
“Only one candidate will represent the ADC in 2027. Any notion that the party cannot succeed without a particular individual is self-serving and detrimental,” he concluded.
