“ADA Has Not Been Adopted by the Coalition” – Atiku’s Aide Dismisses 2027 Speculation

Demola Olarenwaju, Special Assistant on Digital Media Strategy to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has refuted reports suggesting that the All Democratic Alliance (ADA) has been adopted as the official platform for the opposition coalition ahead of the 2027 elections.

In a post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday, Olarenwaju expressed concern over what he described as misleading media coverage. He stated that some Nigerian newspapers are contributing to confusion surrounding the emerging opposition coalition by prematurely reporting ADA as the chosen political platform.

He clarified that while a group is pursuing party registration for ADA through the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), this process has not yet been coordinated with the coalition. “ADA has not been adopted by the coalition, and when the time is right, the public will be informed about the appropriate choices and decisions. Just be patient with that,” Olarenwaju wrote.

The Nigeria National Coalition Group (NCG) had earlier submitted a request to INEC seeking the registration of ADA, prompting widespread speculation that prominent political figures including Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Nasir El-Rufai, and Rotimi Amaechi might back the party as a united front for the 2027 general election.
