ACF Raises Alarm Over Allegedly Planned Abduction of Schoolchildren in Kaduna, Calls for Urgent Rescue Efforts

In a recent statement, Professor Muhammad Tukur Baba, the National Publicity Secretary of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), expressed deep concern over the meticulously planned abduction of more than 287 primary and secondary school pupils in Kuriga, Kaduna.

The ACF emphasized the urgent need to eradicate terrorism in the country, noting the grim pattern of attacks. Professor Baba highlighted a recent incident where terrorists struck during Friday prayers at Anguwar Makera, Kwasakwasa community, Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, Kaduna, resulting in the tragic loss of two lives.

Recalling the prolonged captivity of students from the Federal University Gusau, the ACF called for the immediate and unconditional release of the abducted students and pupils, urging sympathy for the affected Kwasakwasa community. The forum commended the swift response of the Kaduna State Government to the heinous attack.

ACF urged security forces to implement more effective strategies to combat terrorism, emphasizing the immediate deployment of measures such as the Special Schools Security Scheme, Schools Vigilante Force, and Anti-Kidnapping Squads in terror-prone states.

Furthermore, the ACF called on the Federal Government to move beyond routine directives, insisting on concrete results within specific time frames, and emphasized the importance of proactive measures to ensure the safety of students and citizens in vulnerable areas.
