Abuja Man Collapses, Dies While Breaking Fast During Ramadan
A man identified as Abdulrasheed Usman collapsed and died while breaking his Ramadan fast in the Kutunku area of Gwagwalada, Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Eyewitness Suleiman Bala said the incident occurred on Saturday when Usman and three friends were eating fruits while breaking their fast. Without warning, Usman suddenly fell to the ground. His friends immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital on a motorcycle, but the doctor on duty confirmed him dead on arrival.
According to Bala, Usman had been in good health before the incident. He had returned from Kaduna at about 5:47 p.m. and hurried to join his friends for Iftar when the tragedy struck. A relative of the deceased also confirmed that he had just arrived from Kaduna and went to his usual spot with friends before the sudden collapse.
Usman’s remains have been buried according to Islamic rites.
Meanwhile, Muslims worldwide commenced Ramadan fasting on Saturday following the sighting of the new crescent moon.
