Abduction Shakes Al Qalam University, Katsina: Two Female Students Missing
Al Qalam University in Katsina has officially confirmed the abduction of two female students from its institution. The incident unfolded on Monday, as revealed in a statement by the university’s head of public affairs, Akilu A. Atiku.
According to the statement, the parents of the abducted students have verified the distressing occurrence. However, details surrounding the circumstances of the abduction remain elusive, given that the incident transpired outside the university premises.
The special bulletin issued by the university conveyed Vice Chancellor Professor Nasiru Musa Yauri’s solidarity with the affected families. The statement expressed the vice chancellor’s heartfelt prayers for the safe and swift return of the abducted students.
Sources indicate that the students were en route from Niger State to Katsina State, aiming to resume academic activities at the university. Tragically, they were among passengers in a commercial vehicle when the abduction occurred.
