Abducted Catholic Priest, Mikah Suleiman, Released After 15 Days in Captivity
Reverend Father Mikah Suleiman, abducted from his rectory in the Damba area of Gusau on June 22, has been freed by his captors after 15 days.
In a video message released by Bishop Mathew Kukah of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Father Suleiman expressed gratitude for the prayers and support that led to his release. “By the grace of God, I am out of the hands of bandits,” he said, appearing alongside Father Chike at the Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA).
Father Mikah Suleiman serves as the Parish Priest of St. Raymond Catholic Church in Damba, Gusau, Zamfara State, under the Sokoto Catholic Diocese.
The abduction occurred early in the morning of June 22 from his residence in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State, Northwest Nigeria.
