AAC Blasts Tinubu’s Visit to Anambra, Labels Soludo’s Projects Shameless Waste Amid Soaring Misery
The African Action Congress (AAC) in Anambra State has condemned President Bola Tinubu’s recent visit to the state to commission the new Governor’s Lodge and Solution Fun City, describing the event as a misplaced show of extravagance at a time of deepening insecurity and economic hardship across the country.
In a strongly worded statement issued on Friday and signed by the party’s 2025 governorship candidate, Chioma Ifemeludike, the AAC criticised Governor Charles Soludo for what it called “frivolous” spending that fails to address the real needs of Anambra residents. The party said the projects offer no solution to the issues currently plaguing the state, including insecurity, hunger, and human rights violations.
Ifemeludike expressed disappointment over Tinubu’s participation in the event, calling it “disheartening” that the president would commission projects that do not confront the core challenges facing Ndi Anambra. She accused the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of forming a self-serving political alliance, alleging that the visit and the projects are part of a broader plan to sway the 2025 gubernatorial election.
According to the AAC, the commissioning of the Governor’s Lodge and Solution Fun City is a political spectacle meant to distract the public from the failures of both state and federal leadership. The statement described the APGA-APC partnership as an “unholy merger” focused on political survival rather than public welfare, and pointed to Soludo’s apparent endorsement of Tinubu for the 2027 presidential race as evidence of political quid pro quo.
The AAC also accused both administrations of corruption, nepotism, and neglecting their constitutional responsibilities, particularly the protection of lives and property. Ifemeludike noted the continued marginalisation of the South-East under Tinubu’s government and questioned Soludo’s silence on the issue.
Calling on Ndi Anambra to remain vigilant, the AAC urged citizens to reject political distractions and demand accountability from their leaders. The party also called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure that the upcoming November 2025 governorship election is free, fair, and credible.
“This is not governance; this is political prostitution,” the statement concluded. “AAC is here to liberate the people from these shackles of poor leadership, and INEC must rise to the occasion.”
