76-Year-Old Grandmother Allegedly Stabbed to Death by 43-Year-Old Boyfriend
Rwanda Village in Letsitele, Mopani District, Limpopo, South Africa, is in shock following the alleged murder of 76-year-old grandmother Annah Mosibudi Malatji. Reports indicate that she was stabbed to death by her 43-year-old boyfriend on Sunday, 8 February 2026.
According to her daughter, Beatrice, a neighbour discovered Malatji after a dispute broke out between her and her partner. She was reportedly found lying in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds to her upper body.
The family claims that Malatji had lodged six separate complaints with the police against the suspect before her death, but no action was taken to protect her.
Beatrice said the family now lives in fear that the suspect could be released on bail and potentially target them. They are appealing to the courts to ensure he remains in custody while facing investigation and charges.
Authorities have yet to confirm the status of formal charges, but the case has sparked discussions about the need for better protection for vulnerable individuals in abusive relationships.
