2Baba’s Former Manager Reveals Details of Singer’s Arrest in London
A former manager of Nigerian music star Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, has provided new clarity on the viral video showing the singer being arrested at London’s Gatwick Airport, confirming that the incident did in fact occur.
Kaka Igbokwe, son of the late music icon Christy Essien-Igbokwe, spoke during an Instagram Live session with broadcaster Daddy Freeze, where he addressed the resurfaced clip that has sparked intense online debate. According to Igbokwe, he was on the same flight with 2Baba and his pregnant wife, Natasha Osawaru, and witnessed the altercation that led to the singer’s detention.
“The video you saw was real,” Igbokwe said during the live session. “Everything you heard about the couple’s face-off was true. I was right there; we all landed together.”
He explained that the confrontation began shortly after their arrival in London. Fans who recognized 2Baba reportedly approached him and ushered him into a nearby shop, unaware that Natasha had been left behind. Igbokwe said Natasha became upset when she realised her husband had walked away from her, especially considering that she was pregnant.
“She felt abandoned,” he said. “When she noticed he had gone off with fans, she wasn’t happy. By the time he rushed back after realising she wasn’t beside him, she confronted him, and the exchange got heated.”
Igbokwe added that airport security intervened when the argument escalated. “They stepped in because the situation was drawing attention. Things moved quickly from there, and that’s how he ended up being handcuffed,” he explained.
The clip, which resurfaced on December 1, 2025, reignited speculation months after 2Baba publicly denied the initial rumours. Earlier reports had alleged that the singer was arrested on October 2, 2025, after missing a scheduled concert in the United Kingdom. At the time, 2Baba attributed his absence to a medical emergency, dismissing claims of an altercation.
“I was never arrested,” he said in a video posted on Instagram months earlier. “I missed the show because of a medical situation, nothing more.”
Despite his denial, the story persisted on gossip platforms until blogger Tosin Silverdam reposted footage he described as “new evidence,” claiming it showed officers questioning the singer before escorting him out of a store at Gatwick. Silverdam captioned the clip: “Video of Tuface Idibia Being Arrested by the Police in the UK After an Alleged Altercation with His Wife Natasha… The Video Is Finally Out.”
Another short video from the blogger captured part of the argument between the couple. Silverdam suggested Natasha reacted out of frustration over the attention her husband received from fans.
