26-year-old woman allegedly killed by boyfriend in Ibadan

A 26-year-old woman, Precious Mogaji, has reportedly been killed by her boyfriend in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The incident occurred in the Oguntula area of Ojoo in the early hours of Monday, March 9, 2026.

The spokesperson of the Oyo State Police Command, CSP Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the case in a statement, noting that an investigation has begun to determine the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.

According to the police, the incident was reported shortly after midnight by a passerby who discovered Mogaji lying motionless at the entrance of her boyfriend’s room.

Preliminary findings identified the boyfriend as 29-year-old Quadri Mohammed, who is currently on the run.

Police said officers from the Ojoo Division were immediately dispatched to the scene after receiving the report. Upon arrival, they found the victim’s body at the doorway of the suspect’s room. The body was examined and documented as part of standard investigative procedures.

The command also addressed reports circulating on social media that the incident occurred in Akobo and involved a husband attempting to place his wife’s body in a car trunk. Police described those claims as inaccurate, stating that the incident happened in Oguntula, Ojoo, and involved a boyfriend, not a husband.

Authorities said efforts are underway to locate and arrest the suspect.
