25-Year-Old Woman Shot and Killed Outside Court Premises
A 25-year-old woman was tragically shot and killed outside the Blue Downs Magistrate’s Court in Cape Town, South Africa. The incident took place on the afternoon of Monday, May 19, 2025, on Bentley Road in Blue Downs.
The victim, identified as Edmincha Wildebees, was reportedly on her way to appear in court on drug-related charges when she was attacked while walking toward her car. The vehicle, a red Volkswagen Polo, was struck by multiple bullets.
Western Cape police, with the Mfuleni police leading the investigation, responded to reports of the shooting. Upon arrival, officers found Wildebees inside the car suffering from gunshot wounds. Medical personnel pronounced her dead at the scene.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg confirmed that a murder case is under investigation. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and no arrests have been made at this time. Authorities are appealing to the public to come forward with any information that could assist in the investigation.
