2027: Why Tinubu May Not Contest, Amaechi Poised to Clear the Air – APC Chieftain
A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State and close associate of former Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has suggested that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu may not seek re-election in 2027. Speaking to the media, Eze hinted at potential surprises in the coming election cycle, particularly if the United States releases a purported file on President Tinubu.
Eze emphasized that former Governor Amaechi is being widely regarded as a credible alternative for the 2027 presidential race, noting a growing wave of public inquiries about Amaechi’s political intentions. According to him, Nigerians are persistently seeking clarity on whether Amaechi will contest, underscoring a perceived leadership vacuum under the current administration.
Criticizing the Tinubu-led government, Eze accused it of prioritizing political survival over solving national challenges such as economic instability, hunger, insecurity, and daily acts of violence. He described the administration’s alleged focus on manipulating the electoral process for 2027 as undemocratic and disconnected from the people’s suffering.
Eze lauded Amaechi’s public service track record, portraying him as a patriotic figure willing to make sacrifices for Nigeria’s progress. He asserted that Amaechi’s leadership is what the country needs to overcome its current crises. According to Eze, if the U.S. proceeds with the release of the alleged file on Tinubu, the president might not even be in a position to contest in 2027. He concluded that Tinubu’s underperforming government alone should disqualify any plans for re-election.
