Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has showered praise on President Bola Tinubu for his remarkable achievements during his first 100 days in office. Fani-Kayode lauds Tinubu for restoring the confidence and hope of Nigerians on the global stage, while also positioning Nigeria as a leader in the African continent.
In a statement shared via his official platform, Fani-Kayode expressed his admiration for President Tinubu’s swift and effective diplomatic efforts. This commendation comes in the wake of the United Arab Emirates’ decision to lift the visa ban imposed on Nigeria in October 2022, along with the resumption of flight operations by Etihad and Emirates airlines within Nigeria.
Presidential spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale issued a press release confirming the UAE’s reversal of the visa restriction, attributing this significant development to President Tinubu’s successful meeting with Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi.
Fani-Kayode, in his reaction to this historic achievement, stated, “Tinubu achieved what his predecessor could not achieve. In the last few days, our President has placed Nigeria back at the center-stage of international affairs where she rightly belongs.”
He continued to highlight Tinubu’s recent participation in the G20 summit in India, which attracted substantial foreign investments to Nigeria. Fani-Kayode noted that during the summit, President Tinubu emphasized Nigeria’s indispensable role in global affairs. Subsequently, during his visit to the UAE, the President not only secured the lifting of the visa ban but also resolved issues related to Emirati funds at the Central Bank and air travel routes between the two nations.
Fani-Kayode emphasized the significance of these achievements occurring within a matter of days, in contrast to previous administrations’ years of challenging negotiations. He expressed his pride in President Tinubu and proclaimed that Nigeria, under his leadership, is experiencing a resurgence on the world stage.
In his concluding remarks, Fani-Kayode stated, “Not only has he restored our confidence and hope, but he has also proved to the world that Great Nigeria, the Giant of Africa, has come alive again. Glory be to God.”
