10 years of marriage and no child… if the fault is from my husband, I will suggest getting pregnant by another man – Nigerian woman
A Nigerian woman, Ngozi, has stirred online conversation with her bold views on childbearing within marriage. In a Facebook post shared on Tuesday, she revealed that if after 10 years of marriage, she and her husband are unable to have children, and medical tests confirm that she is the cause, she would support her husband marrying another woman to have a child. On the other hand, if the fault is from her husband, she would suggest that he impregnates another woman, stating that if he refuses, the marriage should end.
Ngozi emphasized that true love means wanting the best for a spouse, even if it involves having a child with someone else. She boldly expressed that in such situations, she would not adopt a child if she could conceive herself, rejecting the idea of making such a sacrifice just because her spouse is unable to have a child biologically. According to her, adoption would not be an option unless IVF and other methods had failed.
Ngozi’s comments sparked a debate, with some supporting her stance while others found her views controversial. Her post resonated with her followers, as she strongly advocated for prioritizing the happiness of a partner over personal sacrifice, calling out what she described as selfishness when one refuses to allow their spouse to experience parenthood.
