“You Lied! Natasha Never Accused Me of Harassment,” Fayemi Tackles Sen. Fasuyi
Former Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has strongly denied claims by Senator Cyril Fasuyi that he was accused of sexual harassment by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. Fayemi’s media office issued a statement refuting the allegation, calling it entirely false and baseless.
His spokesperson, Mallam Ahmad Sajoh, stated that at no time had Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan or anyone else accused Fayemi of such misconduct. The statement also suggested that Fasuyi may have misrepresented facts in an attempt to defend Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Sajoh clarified that Fayemi’s only professional engagement with Akpoti-Uduaghan was during his tenure as Minister of Mines and Steel Development when he handled issues related to the Ajaokuta Steel Company. He noted that while they may have had differing views on the company’s future, their interactions remained strictly within policy discussions.
The statement called on Fasuyi to be more careful with his public statements, warning that spreading unverified claims could damage reputations.
