Woman Shot Dead by Police Officer Boyfriend on Christmas Day
A tragic incident occurred in Eldorado Park, Johannesburg, on Christmas Day, when a 22-year-old woman, Chesnay Patricia Keppler, was shot dead by her boyfriend, Mandla Goodman Buthelezi, who is a police officer.
Chesnay, who worked as a Crime Prevention Warden, was at her home on December 25, 2024, when Buthelezi arrived. Witnesses say he wanted her to leave with him, but she refused. This led to an argument, during which he allegedly became violent and tried to force her into his car.
Friends at the scene stepped in to help Chesnay, allowing her to run back into the house and lock herself inside. However, Buthelezi reportedly went to his police car, took out his gun, and fired several shots through the kitchen window. Chesnay was hit by the bullets.
After the shooting, Buthelezi fled the scene but was later arrested by the police. Chesnay was rushed to the hospital, but doctors were unable to save her, and she was declared dead on arrival.
People close to Chesnay say that she had experienced abuse from Buthelezi before this incident.
