Why I no longer go to church — Funke Akindele
Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has explained her decision to stop attending church physically, saying she now prefers to worship from home due to discomfort caused by constant attention during services.
She shared her thoughts in a Snapchat video on Sunday morning, where she spoke while preparing breakfast for her children before they left for church.
According to her, the presence of media teams in church often disrupts her experience, as she is frequently filmed or photographed during worship.
“I don’t go to church anymore. Anytime I attend, they keep taking pictures of me. So I prefer to join online, make breakfast, and work on my projects,” she said.
Akindele noted that her decision does not affect her children’s church attendance, as they still go physically while she remains at home.
She added that worshipping from home allows her to maintain focus and balance her professional responsibilities, including her film production work, without unnecessary distractions.
