“What Is Coming Is Heavy” – Ex-PDP Spokesman Hints at 2027 Opposition Coalition
Former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kola Ologbondiyan, has signaled the possibility of a major coalition among opposition parties ahead of the 2027 presidential election. In a recent appearance on AIT, Ologbondiyan declared, “What is coming is heavy,” referring to what he described as a growing unity and determination among opposition figures to join forces. He urged Nigerians to remain hopeful, saying, “If the picture we are picking is right, I would ask Nigerians to go and rest because there is hope ahead. In Ghana, opposition won an election.”
His remarks come on the heels of confirmation by former PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, who acknowledged ongoing efforts to build a coalition of opposition parties. Atiku also dismissed rumors suggesting he was planning to defect to the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
