“We’re Not Coming Back” – British-Nigerian Mum Relocates Family from UK to Nigeria After Six Years
A British-Nigerian mother has announced that she and her family have permanently relocated from the United Kingdom to Nigeria after six years abroad.
In a video shared online, she explained that their decision was not driven by immigration challenges or financial difficulties, but by a desire to “go home.” She emphasized that the move was deliberate, saying, “So yes, we finally did it. My family and I packed up our bags and relocated from the UK to Nigeria. We’re British citizens and also Canadian permanent residents, so it’s not like we had to leave. We just decided it was time to go home — to Japada.”
Before leaving, the family sold most of their belongings, keeping only what was essential, and bid farewell to the country they had called home for six years. “When I say goodbye, I mean forever goodbye to the UK,” she said. “We’ve rented out our properties, and honestly, I don’t think we’ll ever move back to live there. But hey, never say never.”
She described the move as a fresh start and an opportunity to reconnect with their roots in Nigeria.
