“We Have Not Increased Air Fare by 100%” – Air Peace
Air Peace has firmly denied viral reports alleging a 100% hike in its fares, with one-way flights between Lagos and Abuja supposedly rising to N200,000. The rumor, which gained traction on social media, suggested that the fare increase would take effect on November 1, 2024.
According to a recent check on Air Peace’s official website, the one-way Lagos-Abuja fare remains significantly lower, with prices currently around N114,000 for November 1. This discrepancy sparked a response from the airline, which clarified that the viral claims are entirely unfounded.
In an official statement, Air Peace dismissed the fare increase rumors and urged passengers to rely only on verified communication channels for accurate information. “We would like to categorically state that this information is false and did not originate from Air Peace,” the statement read. “We have not released any official statement regarding a fare increase as described, and any announcements regarding our pricing would only be made through our verified channels.”
The airline highlighted that any image or post suggesting a drastic fare adjustment was unendorsed by Air Peace, and assured passengers that updates on fares or other official matters would only be shared via the airline’s trusted platforms.
