Videos: Four Reportedly Dead as Soludo’s Anti-Touting Taskforce Clashes with Traders in Onitsha Market

Four people, including women and children, have reportedly been killed this morning  following an operation by an anti-touting taskforce at Onitsha Main Market, Emeka Offor Plaza axis.

Eyewitness accounts and videos from the scene — which SK Blog cannot independently verify — show members of the unit, led by a man known as “Cabal”, storming the market to disperse roadside traders accused of obstructing major walkways.

Tension quickly escalated as traders resisted. Security operatives allegedly cocked their guns, and what is being described as “accidental discharge” occurred. A woman and her daughter, a young glasses seller, and another woman with her child were killed instantly.

Another video shows a burning vehicle, with voices in the background claiming it belonged to the commander of the Ocha Brigade. That detail remains unconfirmed.

The chairman of the market has since evacuated the corpses, and business activities are gradually resuming.

Authorities have not yet issued an official statement.
