Video: Unizik Security Arrest Three Final-Year Students for Defying Ban on Signing-Out Tradition
Security operatives at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, on Thursday stormed an examination hall to arrest three final-year students who defied the institution’s recent ban on signing-out activities. The incident occurred shortly after the students completed their last paper.
The university management had earlier in the week prohibited the popular signing-out tradition, where students mark the completion of their undergraduate studies by wearing shirts signed by colleagues. Despite the directive, some students believed the ban would not apply immediately and proceeded to celebrate by signing on one another’s shirts.
In a video circulating online, armed security personnel were seen entering the hall to apprehend two female students and a male student for violating the rule. The operatives dragged the visibly distressed students out while their peers looked on in disbelief.
