Video: Super Falcons Players Rescued After Getting Stuck in Faulty Elevator in France
Several players from Nigeria’s Super Falcons were rescued from a stuck elevator in Bordeaux on Saturday, a dramatic incident that quickly went viral online.
The incident occurred at Hotel Mercure, where at least seven players were trapped in a malfunctioning elevator. The team, in France for the Paris 2024 Olympics women’s football event, had just returned from a training camp in Sevilla, Spain.
In the video, players can be seen and heard anxiously awaiting rescue. One player, speaking in pidgin English, exclaimed, “God abeg o,” while another vowed, “If I survive this one, see that stares, if I no pieces am,” as they were being freed from the elevator.
Notable players like Asisat Oshoala, Tochukwu Oluehi, and Uchenna Kanu were among those identified in the footage.
