Video: “‘I Bought One ‘Eba’ For N300, We Must Protest In August’ – Nigerians Outraged Over Soaring Food Prices
In a viral video circulating on social media, two Nigerian citizens expressed deep frustration over the skyrocketing prices of essential food items. The video captures the men lamenting the exorbitant cost of basic staples, such as a wrap of eba purchased for N300 and a base of garri for N4,000.
The emotional outcry underscores the harsh economic realities faced by ordinary Nigerians struggling to afford necessities amidst spiraling inflation. Criticism was also directed at President Bola Tinubu, with accusations that promised improvements have not materialized, intensifying disillusionment with political leadership.
The discussion in the video extended to recent controversies involving the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), where one of the men challenged the agency’s leadership over unfulfilled promises regarding arrests.
Expressing their sentiments in local dialects and vivid language, the men highlighted the severe impact of these economic pressures on daily life, juxtaposing them against unmet political assurances.
