Veteran Nollywood Actress Loses Only Son

The Nollywood community has been thrown into mourning following the death of Shina, the only son of veteran actress Peju Ogunmola Omobolanle and her husband, renowned comic actor Sunday Omobolanle, popularly known as Papi Luwe. The heartbreaking news emerged while Ogunmola, 56, was on a movie set, leaving colleagues and fans in shock.

Shina, who had only recently completed his National Youth Service Corps programme, was described as the pride of his mother, with Ogunmola often celebrating his achievements and expressing joy over his milestones. His sudden death has therefore come as a devastating blow to the family and the industry at large.

The news was first made public by actor Odunlade Adekola, whose social media post drew an immediate wave of tributes and condolences. Messages of sympathy have since poured in from fans and colleagues across the entertainment industry, with many expressing deep grief and solidarity with the Omobolanle family.
