Nolloywood is presently mourning the death of veteran Yoruba actress, Folake Aremu, popularly known as Orisabunmi.
Bolaji Amusan popularly know as “Mr Latin” who is the current President of the Theatre Arts And Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) confirmed this to journalists.
According to Mr. Latin, the actress died on Tuesday night at the age of 60.
Orisabunmi was born 10 October 1960 in Ilu Ola, Kwara state. She did her school education at Ilu Ola Primary School.
The cause of her death wasn’t revealed.
The news of her death comes four months after her ex-husband, Jimoh Aliu, who was popularly known as Aworo, died.
Orisabunmi was trained by her ex-husband Chief Jimoh Aliu.
She first appeared in a stage play called ‘Ori Ma Binu’ but it was her role as ‘Orisabunmi’ in “Arelu” that made her a household name.
She also appeared in many movies including “Agbaarin”, “Yanponyanrin”, “Asabi”, “Oluwerimagboojo” and “Ayanmo Eda”.
She also produced some movies like “Atupa Imole”, “Tani O”, “Ase Ilu”.
