UNIZIK Introduces Penalties for Late School Fee Payments
Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) has announced new penalties for students who fail to pay their tuition fees by the deadline of July 1, 2025. According to a circular released on June 18 and signed by the Registrar, Mr. Victor I. Modebelu, students who miss the deadline will face escalating fines depending on how late the payment is made.
The circular outlines that students will be charged an additional N20,000 if they delay payment by one week. A two-week delay will attract a N30,000 penalty, while students who are three weeks late will be fined N40,000. Beyond three weeks, the fines will continue to increase incrementally.
The announcement, made public through the university’s official online platform, has triggered widespread criticism and concern across social media platforms, with many students and stakeholders expressing frustration over the new policy.
