U.S. Embassy Addresses Visa Application Challenges in Nigeria
The U.S. Embassy in Nigeria has assured visa applicants that the difficulties they are facing due to the introduction of a new service provider will soon be resolved. The embassy has called on Nigerians to exercise patience as it works to address the ongoing issues.
In August, the U.S. Mission in Nigeria introduced a new visa appointment system, making Nigeria one of the first countries to adopt this updated platform. However, the transition has presented challenges for applicants, leading to delays and frustrations.
In a recent statement, the U.S. Embassy acknowledged the difficulties, stating, “We are aware, however, of the challenges many visa applicants are facing as the new system is implemented. Many of these issues have been resolved. We are addressing the remaining challenges with the new system as swiftly as possible.”
The embassy expressed regret for the inconvenience caused during the transition but assured that improvements in the visa application process are on the horizon. “We anticipate that all our applicants will soon see improved processing,” the statement added.
Applicants seeking assistance with visa applications, online scheduling, or passport-related information are encouraged to visit the Amentum Contact Center for support.
The embassy emphasized that the purpose of the new system is to streamline the process and make visa appointments at both the Abuja embassy and Lagos consulate more accessible and transparent for all applicants.
