Two Actors Die Mysteriously After Celebratory Dinner in Owerri
Two actors have died in Owerri, Imo State, after attending a house party hosted by a movie director following a film shoot. The Imo State Police Command confirmed the incident, which occurred in the early hours of Friday, April 18. The identities of the deceased actors have not yet been disclosed.
Reports indicate that four male actors were taken to the Federal University Teaching Hospital Owerri after falling seriously ill. Two of them were pronounced dead on arrival, while the other two are currently receiving treatment and are said to be responding positively.
According to eyewitness account provided by Kaito Karisia, the tragedy unfolded after the group — which included the four actors and three women — ate rice and drank wine at the director’s residence. The director, who had reportedly gone to bed early, discovered the grim scene when he woke up to switch off the generator and noticed two of the actors were unresponsive while the other two were struggling to breathe.
One of the survivors reportedly told Karisia that everyone at the party ate the rice served by their host and took only a sip of Calypso and wine, except for the two deceased actors who consumed the entire bottle.
The movie director and the three women present at the apartment have been arrested and are assisting with the ongoing police investigation.
