Tudun Biri Bombing Fallout: Northern Lawyers Forum To Sue FG
In the aftermath of the tragic military airstrikes in Tudun Biri, Kaduna State, the Concerned Northern Lawyers Forum, comprising over 600 members, has resolved to sue the Federal Government. The legal action aims to secure adequate compensation for the families affected by the incident, which claimed the lives of over 120 villagers celebrating Maulud last Sunday night.
Barrister Nafi’u Abubakar, representing the lawyers’ forum, addressed the media in Kaduna on Saturday. He emphasized the forum’s commitment to ensuring justice for the families that suffered irreparable loss in the wake of the airstrikes. Abubakar called for an immediate and decisive response from the Federal Government, urging a thorough and independent investigation into the incident.
“It is imperative that those responsible are held accountable for their actions, and measures are put in place to prevent any recurrence of such incidents in the future,” stated Barrister Nafi’u Abubakar.
He further urged the Nigerian Army to reevaluate its rules of engagement and training procedures to prevent the loss of innocent lives during military operations. The lawyers’ forum stressed the importance of the Nigerian Army exercising utmost caution to avoid collateral damage and civilian casualties.
Expressing condolences to the affected families, Abubakar stated, “We stand united with them in their grief and pledge our unwavering support in ensuring justice is served. The Concerned Northern Lawyers Forum will work tirelessly to pursue legal means to claim the compensation that is owed to the victims.”
This legal action comes as a pivotal step towards holding responsible parties accountable and preventing future tragedies, as the Concerned Northern Lawyers Forum seeks justice for the victims of the Tudun Biri bombings.
