Trump Declassifies Secret Files on JFK, RFK, MLK Assassinations

U.S. President Donald Trump has signed an executive order to declassify files related to the assassinations of John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, and Martin Luther King Jr. The move fulfills a campaign promise to release long-classified information about the deaths of the three prominent figures, whose assassinations have fueled speculation and conspiracy theories for decades.

A significant portion of the American public has long suspected that U.S. intelligence agencies, including the CIA and FBI, played a role in the killings. The declassified files are expected to provide new insights into the circumstances surrounding the deaths of the former president, his brother, and the civil rights leader.

“That’s a big one, huh?” Trump said, announcing the decision. “A lot of people have been waiting for this for a long—for years, for decades.”

The executive order is set to make thousands of documents available, including 3,000 previously unreleased files and around 30,000 others that had been made public but with redactions, particularly in relation to John F. Kennedy’s assassination. The release is expected to shed light on one of the most controversial periods in American history, as researchers, historians, and the public await further details.
