In a remarkable display of determination, troops engaged in a relentless mission to eradicate remnants of the Boko Haram Terrorists (BHT) in Borno and surrounding areas have achieved a significant victory. Troops from the 144 Battalion have managed to rescue 25 hostages from the clutches of the BHTs.
Coordinating with the Hybrid Force, the courageous troops orchestrated a successful clearance operation in Gobara village, located in the Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno state. This operation led to the liberation of 14 hostages, including 6 women and 8 children. The action was carried out on Saturday under the leadership of the Director of Army Public Relations.
Continuing their unwavering efforts, troops from the 82 Task Force Battalion, again in collaboration with the Hybrid Force, conducted a raid on a Boko Haram enclave in Gava Village within the Gwoza Local Government Area. This mission on Sunday resulted in the safe rescue of 11 civilians.
All those who have been liberated are currently under the care of the troops, undergoing thorough profiling to ensure their well-being. In a separate operation that also took place on Sunday, a family of seven Boko Haram members voluntarily surrendered to the troops of the 81 Division Task Force Battalion in Dikwa Local Government Area. This family consisted of three adults and four children.
Furthermore, troops of the 2 Battalion, acting on credible information, executed an anti-banditry operation in Kaduna State. This operation led to the neutralization of one criminal and the successful release of four kidnap victims from Kwana Shehu Village in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The rescued victims have been joyfully reunited with their families.
