Troops Successfully Clear Terrorist Camps, Seize Explosive Devices in Imo, Anambra
Troops from “Operation UDO KA II” carried out a series of clearance operations in Imo and Anambra, resulting in the arrest of a suspected terrorist and the confiscation of materials used for making improvised explosive devices (IEDs), motorcycles, stored provisions, and logistical supplies within the camps.
The clearance operations, as reported by Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for the 82 Division in Enugu, Lt.-Col. Jonah Unuakhalu, were conducted in the Lilu community and Orsumoghu Forest in the Orsu Local Government Area of Imo. Additionally, operations took place in the Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra.
During these operations, troops faced various obstacles and safely detonated multiple IEDs. They also engaged with terrorists, who subsequently fled into nearby forests due to the superior firepower of the troops. Numerous terrorist camps and shrines were demolished during these clearance operations.
Lt.-Col. Jonah Unuakhalu encouraged law-abiding citizens in the Southeast region to remain vigilant and provide timely and credible information to security agencies, particularly “Operation UDO KA II.” Such information could lead to the capture of individuals who managed to escape with gunshot wounds.
Furthermore, he advised the residents to disregard misleading tweets from the self-proclaimed Biafra leader, Simon Ekpa. The good people of the Southeast region were assured that ongoing efforts, such as “Operation UDO KA II,” would continue to combat criminal activities and ensure the region’s safety, adhering to established rules and regulations.
