Trader Arrested for Killing Sister in Dispute Over N800 Debt
A trader in Akure, Ondo State, has been arrested for allegedly killing her elder sister during a dispute over an N800 debt. The suspect, identified as Bosede Iluyemi, was said to have quarreled with her sister, Omowumi Tewogboye, over money owed for tomatoes and pepper purchased on credit.
Eyewitnesses reported that the argument turned violent when Bosede held onto Omowumi’s clothes, causing her to fall and sustain serious injuries. Omowumi was quickly rushed to a nearby hospital but was confirmed dead on arrival.
The spokesperson of the Ondo State Police Command, DSP Olusola Ayanlade, confirmed the arrest, adding that Bosede is in custody. He said investigations are ongoing to establish the full details of the case and assured that the matter will be handled in line with due process to ensure justice is served.
