“Tinubu’s Appointments Reflect National Unity, Not Partisanship” – APC Chief Refutes APGA Alliance Rumor
Paul Chukwuma, a governorship aspirant in Anambra State under the All Progressives Congress (APC), has dismissed speculations of an alliance between APC and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). Chukwuma clarified that recent appointments by President Bola Tinubu of individuals from Anambra State reflect a commitment to national unity, not partisan favoritism. He emphasized that the appointees are qualified Igbo and Anambra citizens, regardless of their political affiliations.
Speaking at his Umueri country home on Saturday, Chukwuma addressed concerns over the inclusion of non-APC members in the president’s appointments. He highlighted Tinubu’s approach to governance as one that prioritizes inclusivity, describing him as a leader who shares political offices with Nigerians across party lines. Chukwuma praised the president for identifying credible individuals, such as Iyom Bianca Ojukwu representing women and Mr. Mark Okoye Jr. representing the youth, as symbols of the president’s commitment to diversity and national representation.
He also dismissed rumors of an APC-APGA alliance, reaffirming that the APC is focused on building grassroots support to secure Anambra in the 2025 elections. According to Chukwuma, the party aims to win the state through the will of the people and not through coercion.
“Election is a different thing. APC is the ruling party in the country, and Mr. President is playing national politics, not local politics. He is identifying with credible individuals no matter their parties, and that’s the quality of a good leader,” Chukwuma said.
He further commended party members for their dedication at the grassroots level, expressing confidence in APC’s prospects for victory in the upcoming governorship election in Anambra State.
