Tinubu Congratulates Azuta-Mbata on Election as Ohanaeze President
President Bola Tinubu has extended his congratulations to Senator John Azuta-Mbata on his election as the President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide. The announcement was made through a statement issued on Friday by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Bayo Onanuga.
Azuta-Mbata, a former senator who represented Rivers East in the Senate from 1999 to 2007, emerged as the 13th president of the prominent Pan-Igbo socio-cultural organization during its meeting in Enugu on Friday.
In the statement, Tinubu commended Azuta-Mbata on assuming the leadership role and wished him success as he undertakes what he described as an “onerous yet noble and lofty task.” He also applauded the smooth leadership transition within the Ohanaeze and encouraged the new leadership to build on the principles and achievements of their predecessors.
The President underscored the importance of socio-cultural organizations like Ohanaeze Ndigbo in fostering national unity and development. He reiterated his commitment to promoting dialogue and cooperation among Nigeria’s diverse ethnic nationalities.
