Tinubu Appoints New CEOs for NUC, NERDC, NEPAD, and SMDF/PAGMI

 

President Bola Tinubu has appointed new chief executive officers for several key Nigerian institutions, including the National Universities Commission (NUC), the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC), the Solid Minerals Development Fund/Presidential Artisanal Gold Mining Initiative (SMDF/PAGMI), and the New Partnership for Africa Development (NEPAD).

 

In a statement released on Friday by the President’s special adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, it was revealed that Prof. Abdullahi Yusuf Ribadu has been appointed as the Executive Secretary of NUC. Prof. Ribadu, a visiting professor at NUC, is a veterinary reproduction expert who has served as vice chancellor at the Federal University of Technology in Yola and Sule Lamido University in Jigawa State.

 

For the NERDC, President Tinubu has named Prof. Salisu Shehu as the new Executive Secretary. Prof. Shehu is an authority in educational and human psychology, having been instrumental in the establishment of the School of Continuing Education at Bayero University, Kano, and serving as the Vice-Chancellor of Al-Istiqamah University, Kano.

 

Jabiru Salisu Abdullahi Tsauri has been appointed as the National Coordinator of NEPAD. Tsauri, who holds a Master’s in International Affairs and Diplomacy from Ahmadu Bello University, brings extensive experience in legislative affairs, global affairs, and democratic governance.

 

Lastly, Yazid Shehu Umar Danfulani has been appointed as the Executive Secretary of the SMDF/PAGMI. With a background in banking, computing, and business administration, Danfulani holds degrees in Business Administration and Arts and Management. He has previously worked at the Central Bank of Nigeria and served as Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in Zamfara State.

 

President Tinubu expressed confidence that the new appointees, with their wealth of experience, will bring positive change and drive progress in their respective organizations, helping to meet the expectations of Nigerians.
