Tinubu Appoints First Director General of Energy Security

 

 

 

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Ojukaye Flag Amachree as the new Director of Energy Security within the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA). This announcement was made by Zakari Mijinyawa, the Head of Strategic Communications at ONSA.

 

The appointment emphasizes the Federal Government’s dedication to ensuring a secure, stable, and sustainable energy supply. It also reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to strengthening energy security and addressing associated supply chain issues.

 

Amachree’s new responsibilities will include overseeing national energy security initiatives, fostering community involvement in protecting Nigeria’s energy resources, and supporting both short and long-term energy sustainability goals. The National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, extended his congratulations to Amachree on this important role.

 

Amachree, who holds management degrees and is an alumnus of the Lagos Business School, will collaborate with various stakeholders including government agencies, security bodies, energy regulators, international partners, and community leaders. His role will involve coordinating policies, safeguarding critical infrastructure, managing data, and building strategic alliances within the energy sector.

 

The Energy Security Directorate, now a key component of ONSA, will focus on these critical tasks to enhance Nigeria’s energy security framework.
