“This Year Alone, I Rejected 10 Men Who Want to Marry Me Because They Don’t Have Money” – Nigerian Woman Declares
A Nigerian woman, Anthonia Umerah, has revealed that she turned down at least ten marriage proposals this year, insisting that financial stability is a major requirement for anyone seeking her hand in marriage.
Umerah, who made the disclosure on Facebook, stated that marriage requires money, and any man unable to provide for marital responsibilities is not fit for marriage.
“No. I’m after stability. A man who does not have money for marriage responsibilities is not fit for marriage. Na me talk am! I don’t glorify poverty and men who do not take care of their responsibilities to be seen as a good woman,” she wrote.
She further stressed that she is not willing to compromise her lifestyle, adding that her decision is not about scarcity of husbands but about the financial capability of men.
“This year alone, I have rejected up to 10 men who want to marry me. Not because they are bad, but because they don’t have money for marriage responsibilities and the lifestyle I want to maintain. Husband is not scarce. Men who have money are not enough,” she added.
