“The Story Is Entirely False” – ADC Denies INEC Rejected David Mark-Led Leadership
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed reports suggesting that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) refused to recognize its newly constituted leadership under Senator David Mark. In a statement shared on social media, ADC National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi described the reports as entirely false and urged the public to disregard them.
David Mark was recently named the Interim National Chairman of the ADC following the party’s 99th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, during which a group of young Nigerians were also elected into the National Working Committee (NWC). The ADC has since submitted the report of that meeting, including the names of the new leadership, to INEC.
Amidst social media claims that the electoral commission rejected the submission, the party emphasized that no such action had occurred. Abdullahi, addressing the issue via a post on X, stated that the story was “entirely false” and called on Nigerians to remain focused on the party’s mission.
“We urge Nigerian people to ignore such misleading reports from any quarters and stay focused on mobilising the long-suffering people of Nigeria for the great task to save our dear country,” he said.
