The Bible Society of Nigeria honours Deacon Mustapha(Jp), others


The Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) Area II under the chairmanship of the Very Reverend Olatunde Onadipe (FCIA) today appreciated some exemplary members of the society with what it termed the “Honorific Award”.


The event took place at the Church of the Lord, 38 Ireshe Road, Aga Ikorodu, Lagos.


Reverend Onadipe in his welcome speech stated that “the Bible Society of Nigeria is a non-profit-making interdenominational Christian organization whose sole mission is to make the Holy Bible available and affordable to Nigerians in their preferred languages and formats, helping them engage with the word of God through life-transforming programmes.”


He further said “BSN is not a Church and does not have bias for or against any particular Church denomination. We serve the Churches by providing the Bible which they need in their task of soul winning. We are partners with the Churches in fulfillment of the Great Commission.We strive to break any known barrier that makes the word of God inaccessible to Christians.”


He called on every lover of the Bible to support the society in its earnest desire to make the Bible available in all Nigerian languages.


He reiterated that it costs a minimum of N120million per translation and it takes about 8years to complete each project.


The translation cost he said are absorbed through donations.


Reverend Onadipe stated that the awardees have contributed immensely towards the growth and development of the society hence the award, he enjoined all and sundry to commit themselves towards the growth of the word of God.


There were two categories of awardees, they include:


Prince Deacon Nojeem Adeniyi Mustapha JP as Grand Ambassador and Special Apostle Prophet David Akinwande Runsewe and Senior Reverend Apostolic Mother Deborah Oyeyemi Odulaja both as Ambassadors.


The short word of exhortation themed “Exceedingly Great Reward” was delivered by the Minister in Charge of the Church of the Lord, Aga, Ikorodu, Veneral (Dr) Paul Oduyebo, while the Special Bible reading was taken by visually impaired Olori Adegbola of Tungba FM.


The event was graced by eminent personalities.
