“Tell the World How I Betrayed You” – Kenneth Okonkwo Dares Peter Obi

Former spokesperson for the Labour Party’s Presidential Campaign Council, Kenneth Okonkwo, has publicly challenged Peter Obi, the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, to explain how he was allegedly betrayed following Okonkwo’s exit from the Labour Party.

Speaking during an appearance on Channels Television’s *Sunday Politics*, Okonkwo defended his loyalty during the campaign period and dismissed suggestions of disloyalty or secret dealings with rival parties.

“When I worked for him, I never consulted any politician. I am making a public statement. I never talked to any political party. I was 100% loyal,” Okonkwo said.

He emphasized that when he decided to part ways with Obi and the Labour Party, he made his decision known publicly and stopped speaking on Obi’s behalf. “They don’t understand what betrayal means. Anybody who is writing or saying anything about me is a reflection of who that person is; not a reflection of who I am,” he added.

Okonkwo, once a vocal supporter of Obi during the 2023 elections, left the Labour Party in July 2024, citing unresolved internal conflicts within the party and Obi’s silence on the issues. He also rejected claims that he had received financial or material rewards, including a house, during the campaign period.

Responding to Obi’s recent remarks, where the former governor alluded to a biblical betrayal by one of Jesus’ disciples, Okonkwo criticized the comparison. “How can you betray somebody you are not working for?” he asked, suggesting that Obi sees himself as the Jesus figure in the analogy.

The actor-turned-politician maintained that Obi is entitled to his opinion but added that no one can fight on behalf of God.
